Banking family

After buying the Bank my dad came and said, “It is different to be a banker than to be an insurer. As an insurer, you have to ask for money, as a banker people ask you for money.”

I graduated from college in 1974. My brother Mario started working in our firm in 1976, and that was the first time a Pacheco had come to work in the company. I came later in 1981.

Succession was not hard. The day he said he was going to leave, he just left. He stayed on the boards for as long as he wanted. We always respected him and what he did until he died.
